Terms of use
Last updated · October 2026
These terms govern use of the International Institute for Social Impact website, operated by the International Institute for Social Impact, a nonprofit corporation incorporated in New Mexico, USA. By using the website, sharing a story or making a contribution, you agree to these terms.
1. Our purpose
The Institute funds and runs community programs in education and school meals, health outreach, clean water and food security in Uganda, and organizes direct-support appeals for families facing a crisis. The Institute is a community and development organization, not a healthcare provider.
2. Not medical advice
Information shared through the website, outreach days and programs is for community and educational purposes. It is not a replacement for professional medical, psychological or legal care.
3. Contributions
Donations are voluntary charitable contributions, and no goods or services are provided in direct exchange for a donation. Whether a gift is tax-deductible depends on the country you live in and how you give. Gifts to an appeal fund that appeal; if an appeal raises more than its goal or cannot proceed, the surplus goes to the general fund.
4. Saved payment methods
When you contribute, your payment method, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, is securely stored by our payment processor. The Institute never stores full card numbers. A stored payment method is used only to complete a contribution if a first attempt fails to process, to collect a monthly gift you have chosen, and to let you make additional contributions you choose. The Institute will never charge a stored payment method unless you request it. To have your stored payment method removed, contact support@internationalinstituteforsocialimpact.org.
5. Monthly gifts
A monthly gift is collected on the same day each month until you cancel it. You can change or cancel it at any time from the secure link in your receipt or by writing to our team. Cancellations take effect before the next collection.
6. Stories and appeals
Stories sent to the Institute stay with our review team and are published only as an appeal written together with the family and with its permission. The Institute decides at its discretion whether to organize an appeal and may decline without giving a reason.
7. Community conduct
Visitors who contact families, volunteers or staff through the Institute must treat them with respect. The Institute may refuse contact or participation to anyone whose conduct makes a community space unsafe.
8. Intellectual property
Text, images and recordings on the website belong to the International Institute for Social Impact or the relevant contributor. Written permission is required before republishing content at scale.
9. Changes to these terms
The Institute may revise these terms as the website and programs evolve. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the revised version.
