The International Institute for Social Impact is a nonprofit corporation incorporated in New Mexico, USA, working with communities in Uganda. This policy describes how personal information is collected, used, shared and protected when you visit the website, share a story, subscribe to updates or contribute.
1. Information we collect
The Institute collects only what is needed to run programs, process contributions and respond to you.
- Donor contact information, contribution amount and designation, and mailing details when provided.
- Email addresses used for updates and program communications.
- Names, locations, contact details and the stories submitted through the share-a-story form.
- Names, email addresses, subjects and messages submitted through contact forms.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to process gifts, send receipts and acknowledgments, collect monthly gifts you have chosen, review stories, deliver program information, send our year-in-review letter and updates, and reply to inquiries.
3. Service providers
Information is shared only with providers needed to operate the website and programs, such as payment processors, email delivery services and form services. Only the minimum required information is shared. The Institute does not sell or rent personal information.
4. Your choices
You may unsubscribe from emails at any time, request a copy of the information held about you, or ask for correction or deletion by emailing support@internationalinstituteforsocialimpact.org.
5. Cookies and measurement
The website may use first-party analytics and advertising measurement to understand how pages are used and which campaigns bring visitors and contributions. Browser privacy controls, including Global Privacy Control where available, are respected. Our payment processor receives only a random reference for a contribution, not the page you came from or advertising parameters. We do not send card details, donor names or donor email addresses through measurement tools. Advertising platforms provide their own privacy and opt-out controls in their published policies.
6. Stories and photographs
Stories and photographs submitted through the website stay with our review team. If an appeal is organized, it is written together with the family and published only with its permission, and the family chooses the photographs. Families may withdraw their permission at any time by contacting us.
7. Security
The Institute uses encryption in transit and at rest, completes payments on our payment processor's secure checkout, never stores full card numbers and limits access to personal information based on operational need. No online system can be guaranteed perfectly secure.
8. Children
The website is intended for adults. Information about children appears in appeals only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website and programs evolve. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
