Lorenzo is only 10 years old. Three years ago, he received a diagnosis that changed his life — and his family’s life — forever: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a rare, progressive, and incurable genetic condition.

The disease is caused by the absence of a protein essential for muscles — dystrophin. Without it, the muscles continuously degenerate, affecting the entire body, including the heart.

There is still no treatment capable of stopping the progression of the disease. But in the United States, a hope has emerged: a single dose of the medication ELEVIDYS.

What stands in the way of this dream is the unimaginable cost of $6 million.
