💔🙏 “Airton, 30 years old — dragging himself across scorching asphalt just to survive”

Airton lives a reality that no human being should ever have to face. Living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a cruel disease that destroys muscles and takes away the ability to walk.

He could have given up on life — but he didn’t. When his wheelchair broke, Airton began dragging himself across the hot asphalt of Manaus, under a blazing 40°C sun, just to sell candy and avoid starving to death.

😢 A reality that hurts to see — and hurts even more to imagine

Every day, Airton wakes up knowing that he will need to do the unthinkable just to survive and have something to eat.

  • 👉 push his own body along the ground
  • 👉 feel his skin burning on the asphalt
  • 👉 face sun, rain, and humiliation
  • 👉 all just to be able to eat

His wheelchair is BROKEN. Now, he drags himself forward with his hands, just to survive another day.

“I just wanted to fix my wheelchair so I could keep selling my candy…” — Airton said, in a quiet, exhausted voice.

Airton asked for only $250 to repair his wheelchair. But his story went viral, and thousands of people were moved by his strength and dignity.

Now, we want to give him a fully motorized wheelchair, so he never has to drag himself across the ground again.

We have already raised $39,000 and we are very close to reaching the goal.

🎯 Where your donation goes

  • 🦽 An adapted motorized wheelchair
So Airton can regain dignity, independence, and safety.
  • 🏥 Medical care and physical therapy
To relieve pain and improve his quality of life.
  • 🍞 Food and basic living expenses
Because no one should go hungry while fighting to survive.
  • 👕 Work materials
So he can continue being independent and selling his candy.

Our goal is to raise the remaining amount needed to deliver the motorized wheelchair.

Airton did not give up on life — now it’s our turn not to give up on him.

👉 Donate $30, $50, or $70 — every amount makes a difference. Each donation brings Airton closer to his motorized wheelchair and the dignity he deserves.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this story already helps a lot.

May God bless you for your generosity. Those who plant solidarity, harvest miracles. 💛
